In Davao City, the local Economic Enterprise (CEE) has exceeded its financial targets for 2024, amassing a total of PHP211 million, up from PHP200 million the year before. Maximo Macalipes Jr., the head of CEE, announced that a significant portion of this sum, PHP136.5 million, was generated from the operations of city markets. Macalipes proudly stated that the CEE not only met but surpassed their collection goals, achieving over 100% of their target. He credited the success to the robust performance across various sectors including cemetery operations, slaughterhouses, and other initiatives. The CEE’s effective collaboration with other agencies has been crucial in the successful implementation of its policies and programs. Macalipes also expressed gratitude towards the community for their continued support. On another note, the Davao City Business Bureau has urged local business owners to renew their permits by the January 31 deadline to prevent last-minute rushes, expecting around 49,000 renewals.
