Three Weather Systems Set to Drench Various Philippine Regions

·

MANILA – The Philippine weather agency has forecasted that three distinct weather systems will cause rainfall across different parts of the Philippines on Tuesday. The easterlies, the shear line, and the northeast monsoon, known locally as ‘amihan,’ are expected to bring varying intensities of rain to several regions. Northern and Eastern Samar are set to see scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the shear line. Similarly, the Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur will experience scattered rain showers influenced by the easterlies. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has warned that these areas might face moderate to heavy rains, which could lead to flash floods or landslides. In contrast, the northeast monsoon will bring light rains to Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and Quezon, with isolated light showers expected across the rest of Luzon. The rest of the country will likely see isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies, with a risk of flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms. Additionally, northern and central Luzon are expected to have moderate to strong winds and rough coastal waters, while light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will prevail over the rest of the archipelago. PAGASA reported no low-pressure areas that could develop into tropical cyclones.
