In a robust effort to combat drug proliferation, the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO6) has successfully seized illegal drugs valued at over PHP26 million in the first three weeks of January. The operations, which included 157 anti-drug activities, led to the confiscation of 2,630 grams of shabu and 11 grams of marijuana, and the arrest of 196 drug suspects. Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky, the regional director of PRO6, attributed these achievements to the collaborative efforts of law enforcement and the support from various stakeholders.

In a related development, the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) reported the seizure of PHP9.32 million worth of illegal drugs and the arrest of 21 drug personalities during their intensified operations from January 13 to January 20, 2025. These operations, conducted in preparation for the Dinagyang Festival, resulted in the confiscation of 1,370 grams of shabu across 14 operations. Among those arrested, seven were identified as high-value individuals (HVIs), while 14 were classified as street-level individuals. ICPO director Col.
