The security guard at the center of a widely circulated video, where he was seen confronting a female sampaguita vendor, has met with officials from the Supervisory Office on Security and Investigation Agency (SOSIA) at Camp Crame in Quezon City. The meeting took place on Monday, January 20, 2025, and was attended by the guard, his agency’s operations manager, and a legal representative.

The Philippine National Police – Civil Security Group (PNP-CSG) stated that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss the incident captured in the viral video, which showed the guard approaching the vendor, demanding she leave the premises, and subsequently destroying her garlands. The guard has been instructed to submit an affidavit to SOSIA by January 23.

Lt. Col. Eudisan Gultiano, spokesperson for the CSG, mentioned that the guard’s identity was kept confidential. He also noted that the security agency could face penalties, including fines or license suspension, depending on the investigation’s findings.

The video incident occurred outside a mall in Mandaluyong City, where the vendor, identified as a 22-year-old first-year Medical Technology student, was selling sampaguita garlands. The student was wearing her former high school uniform, which her mother explained was used to maintain a respectable appearance while selling flowers. Mandaluyong City Police chief Col. Mary Grace Madayag clarified that the student is not part of any beggar syndicate, contrary to some social media claims.
