The Philippine delegation, spearheaded by Science and Technology Secretary Renato Solidum Jr. and Philippine Economic Zone Authority Director General Tereso Panga, made significant strides at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their participation from January 8 to 11 resulted in new business leads within the semiconductor and electronics supply chain, showcasing the Philippines’ growing appeal in the global market.

PEZA announced that several US companies have shown keen interest in integrating with the Philippines’ semiconductor and electronics value chain. Director General Tereso Panga expressed optimism about the potential investments, noting that preliminary discussions have already begun to materialize these opportunities in the near future.

Panga emphasized the Philippines’ robust economic growth and the attractive fiscal incentives provided by the Corporate Recovery and Tax Incentives for Enterprises (CREATE) law, positioning the country as a prime location for Southeast Asian operations.

The CES, organized by the Consumer Technology Association, is renowned as one of the world’s largest tech trade shows, where global innovators and companies unveil cutting-edge technologies aimed at addressing global challenges. During the event, eight PEZA locators from the semiconductor and electronics sector were prominently featured.

The delegation also engaged with key US firms, including Quintel Solutions, a subsidiary of the established PEZA locator Cirtek, known for its leadership in multiport antennas and serving major Telecom carriers in North America. Additionally, meetings were held with top executives from ON Semiconductor Corporation (Onsemi), a major player in the semiconductor industry with a diverse product range and a significant presence in PEZA zones across Tarlac, Cavite, and Mactan in Cebu province since 2007.
