In a sweeping operation across Soccsksargen, the local police force detained 71 suspects, including 31 linked to drug offenses, in a daylong effort on Wednesday. The operation, which covered North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, and the cities of Kidapawan, Tacurong, Koronadal, and General Santos, was detailed in a statement released by PRO-12 Director Brig. Gen. Arnold Ardiente on Thursday. The police also seized 564 grams of shabu, valued at approximately PHP3.8 million. Among those apprehended, eight were identified as the region’s most wanted, five were on provincial most wanted lists, and 46 were targeted at the municipal level. Additionally, the operation focused on illegal firearms, leading to the confiscation of 34 various weapons and the arrest of one person. Ardiente emphasized that these actions reflect the police’s intensified efforts to combat crime and foster a peaceful environment in Soccsksargen.
