Massive Police Operation in Soccsksargen Nets 71 Suspects, Seizes Drugs and Weapons

In a sweeping daylong operation across the Soccsksargen region, law enforcement officials arrested 71 wanted individuals, including 31 linked to drug offenses, as announced by the Police Regional Office in Soccsksargen (PRO-12). The operation, which took place on Wednesday, spanned multiple areas including North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, and the cities of Kidapawan, Tacurong, Koronadal, and General Santos. According to PRO-12 Director Brig. Gen. Arnold Ardiente, the raids resulted in the seizure of 564 grams of shabu, valued at approximately PHP3.8 million. Among those detained, eight were identified as the region’s most wanted, five were top provincial targets, and 46 were sought at the municipal level. Additionally, the operation targeted illegal firearms, leading to the confiscation of 34 assorted weapons and the arrest of one person. Ardiente emphasized that these efforts reflect the police’s commitment to combating crime and fostering a peaceful environment in Soccsksargen.
