In a significant blow to drug trafficking in the Bicol region, law enforcement officials from the Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) successfully apprehended a high-value drug suspect and confiscated 600 grams of shabu, valued at PHP4.08 million, during a meticulously planned buy-bust operation in Naga City. The operation took place on Tuesday evening, January 14, 2025, along Diversion Road in Barangay Concepcion Pequeña. The suspect, identified only as alias Jay from Pamplona, Camarines Sur, was caught with the illegal substance packaged in 11 plastic bags and three heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets. Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon, Director of PRO-5, emphasized that this arrest is a crucial step in their ongoing efforts to dismantle drug networks and reduce the spread of narcotics in the region. The operation was a collaborative effort involving Naga City Police Station 2, Police Station 6, the City Police Drug Enforcement Unit, and the Naga City Intelligence Unit, working closely with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency. Dizon reiterated their commitment to intensifying efforts against drug syndicates and empowering communities to resist the temptation of illegal drugs.
