In a disturbing series of events, the police in Maguindanao del Sur are actively searching for suspects linked to two deadly shootings that occurred on Monday. The first incident took place in Rajah Buayan town, where a young man named Ja-ar Palabrica, aged 25 from Koronadal City, was brutally murdered around 4 p.m. Palabrica was on his motorbike in Barangay Gauan when he was ambushed by two men on another motorbike. The assailants shot him twice in the head and made off with his vehicle. His companion, known only as “Jun,” witnessed the attack but escaped unharmed. The motive behind their presence in Rajah Buayan, which is approximately 80 kilometers away from their hometown, remains unclear. Captain Joel Lebrilla, the local police chief, stated that several persons of interest are currently being pursued in connection with this case.

In a separate but equally tragic event in Buluan town, another man fell victim to gun violence. Around 3 p.m., Nogie Sulaiman Kamenza, a 54-year-old laborer from Barangay Poblacion, was shot dead while sitting on his motorbike. The attack was swift and fatal, leaving Kamenza dead on the spot. Colonel Bobby Paloma, the provincial police director of Maguindanao del Sur, confirmed the identity of the victim and noted that the search for the two gunmen responsible is underway. Both incidents have sparked a thorough investigation by local authorities, who are determined to bring the perpetrators to justice.
