In a significant drug bust in Camalig, Albay, law enforcement officials arrested a high-profile suspect, identified only as ‘Anton’ from Polangui, Albay, and confiscated PHP5.1 million worth of shabu. The operation, which took place on January 14, 2025, resulted in the seizure of 750 grams of the illegal substance. The arrest was executed by a coordinated effort involving the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit, the Provincial Intelligence Unit, and the Camalig Municipal Police Station, alongside the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA). ‘Anton’ is currently detained at the Camalig Municipal Police Station, awaiting charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Lt. Col. Malu Calubaquib of PRO-5 highlighted the operation as a testament to the Philippine National Police Bicol’s unwavering commitment to curbing drug proliferation in the region.
