In a spirited address at the New Year’s Call event held in Cagayan de Oro City, Jail Chief Superintendent Cesar Langawin, the director of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) 10 in Northern Mindanao, reiterated the organization’s dedication to enhancing the welfare of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) and improving facility management. The event, which took place on January 14, 2025, served as a platform for Langawin to reflect on the bureau’s recent successes, including a notable 9th-place ranking across the nation and accolades for its Welfare and Development Divisions.
Langawin expressed optimism for the new year, stating, “I sincerely hope that January has been good to all of us so far, and I am praying that the rest of the year will offer us a never-ending opportunity to pursue excellence.” This sentiment was shared during his speech, which underscored the bureau’s ongoing efforts to achieve excellence in its operations.
The recognition of BJMP-10’s efforts came after the BJMP’s 4th-Quarter Management Conference for 2024, where the bureau’s performance was evaluated. BJMP-10 has been proactive in working with various stakeholders to ensure humane treatment and development opportunities for PDLs, aligning with the vision of a modern and credible jail management system.
The event also celebrated the achievements of the Top 10 Performing Jail Wardens, acknowledging their significant contributions to the bureau’s objectives.
