Diocese of Imus to Host Workshops on Pope Francis’ Reforms in Early 2025

·

The Diocese of Imus is gearing up to organize a series of educational conference-workshops focusing on the reforms initiated by Pope Francis and the application of synodal practices. These events are scheduled for January 14, February 6, and March 6, 2025, and will take place at St. Mary’s Girlstown in Silang, Cavite. The diocese anticipates the participation of around 120 clergy members, religious figures, and seminarians, alongside 70 lay leaders. The Love Our Pope Movement (LOPM), in collaboration with De La Salle University – Dasmarinas, Cavite Campus Ministry, will oversee the facilitation of these workshops. Key topics on the agenda include a review of Church reform history and a deep dive into the Final Document of the Synod of Bishops on Synodality, released in October 2024, with a focus on its local implementation. The first day’s speaker will be Rene Sarmiento, a former Commissioner of the Commission on Elections, while actress and comedienne Candy Pangilinan will address the attendees on the second day. Both are convenors of LOPM.
