In a harrowing incident on Friday afternoon, a collision involving three public utility buses on the northbound lane of the EDSA Busway at Balintawak Station resulted in injuries to approximately 50 individuals. The accident, which occurred at 12:22 p.m., prompted a swift response from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and Quezon City’s local government, who quickly deployed ambulances to the scene to offer medical assistance and first aid to the victims. The buses involved in the crash were operated by Kellen, Admiral, and Jell. Visual evidence from a video shared by the MMDA on Facebook depicted the Kellen bus at the forefront of the wreckage with significant rear damage, the Admiral bus sandwiched in the middle with both front and rear damage, and the Jell bus at the rear, showing front-end damage after it reportedly crashed into the Admiral bus following a collision with concrete barriers. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of this multi-vehicle accident.
