DAVAO CITY – Zabdiel Zacarias, recently appointed as the regional technical director for research and regulations at the Department of Agriculture in Davao Region (DA-11), has called on his team to unite and work collaboratively to meet their objectives and enhance programs for farmers. In a message shared on Facebook, Zacarias emphasized the importance of teamwork, stating, ‘If we work together as a team, we will succeed.’ With over 20 years of experience in the agricultural sector, Zacarias is committed to supporting the farming community. His career began at the Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority (PhilFIDA) Region 11 as a fiber technician, eventually advancing to the position of supervising science research specialist by 2023. He also served as the officer-in-charge regional director of PhilFIDA Region 9, covering the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. Zacarias has been recognized for his contributions, receiving best research paper awards in 2015 from both PhilFIDA and the DA Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR). He officially took his oath of office on January 6.
