Davao del Norte Governor Optimistic About 2025 Growth

·

Davao del Norte Governor Edwin Jubahib expressed a strong belief in the province’s socioeconomic advancement for the upcoming year. Despite the hurdles encountered in 2024, Jubahib’s confidence remains unshaken as he looks forward to significant progress in 2025. In a recent statement, he emphasized the province’s commitment to achieving its set objectives and moving forward with determination.

Jubahib highlighted the province’s notable achievements from the previous year, including prestigious awards such as Governor of the Year, Most Sustainable and Liveable Province, the Seal of Good Local Governance Award, the Gawad Kalasag Award, and being ranked as the third-most competitive province in the Philippines. He also pointed out the influx of over PHP2 billion in new investments and a local revenue collection that surpassed the target by 114%, reaching PHP2.84 billion.

The governor also celebrated the success of the Zero-Billing Program, which benefited over 20,000 patients, and the province’s status as malaria-free and insurgency-free. Jubahib commended the resilience and unity of the residents, especially during challenging times like flooding and his own 90-day preventive suspension, which he described as a painful ordeal that did not dampen their spirits.

As the political season approaches, Jubahib made it clear that his focus is not on campaigning but on enhancing Davao del Norte’s business environment and competitiveness. His priorities include improving the quality of life for the residents through better health services, enhanced education, increased infrastructure development, and creating more job and income opportunities.
