Antique’s Local Governments Encouraged to Support 4Ps Graduates

·

In Antique, local government units (LGUs) are being encouraged to focus on providing social services to households that have graduated from the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps). Jeffrey Gabucay, the Antique Pantawid Provincial Link, highlighted that 1,770 households completed the program in 2024 and were officially handed over to their respective LGUs during the 4Ps Kilos-Unlad graduation ceremony held in December. Gabucay explained that the graduation signifies the households’ improved well-being and the absence of any eligible children left for monitoring under the program. The transition to LGU care is crucial for these families to maintain their progress and avoid slipping back into poverty. Gabucay suggested that LGUs could offer livelihood programs and scholarships for the children of these households, who are now over 18 years old. The distribution of the 1,770 households across Antique’s municipalities includes 43 from Anini-y, 47 from Barbaza, 33 from Belison, 98 from Bugasong, 70 from Caluya, 138 from Culasi, 192 from Hamtic, 64 from Laua-an, 46 from Libertad, 95 from Pandan, 202 from Patnongon, 93 from San Jose de Buenavista, 116 from San Remigio, 54 from Sebaste, 242 from Sibalom, 78 from Tibiao, 96 from Tobias Fornier, and 63 from Valderrama.
