In a significant blow to drug trafficking, the Philippine National Police’s anti-drug unit apprehended a high-profile suspect and confiscated PHP20.4 million worth of shabu during an early morning operation in Bulacan on Tuesday. The operation took place in Barangay Tungkong Mangga, San Jose del Monte City, where 33-year-old alias ‘Marvin’ was captured at around 4:55 a.m. The police seized approximately three kilograms of shabu along with other non-drug items from the suspect. Following the arrest, the suspect was taken into custody and is set to be charged under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. The seized drugs were sent to the Bulacan Provincial Crime Laboratory for detailed chemical analysis and proper handling. Brig. Gen. Eleazar Matta of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group praised the operation, stating that it effectively dismantled a dangerous drug network, thereby enhancing community safety by preventing further drug-related harm.
