·

In a significant move to bolster its infrastructure, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte, has successfully secured a PHP250 million loan from the Land Bank of the Philippines. The loan agreement was formalized on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at the municipal hall, with Mayor Joselito Roble at the helm of the signing ceremony. The mayor’s authority to sign was granted by the town council via Resolution No. 0300-2024, and further endorsed by the Agusan del Norte Provincial Council through Resolution No. 587-2024.

The funds are earmarked for a series of crucial projects aimed at enhancing the town’s facilities and services. Among these, the rehabilitation and enhancement of the Public Market Phase 3 stands out, alongside the installation of 5.24 kilometers of solar-powered streetlights, which will illuminate the town’s roads sustainably. Additionally, the loan will finance the construction of an integrated bus terminal in Barangay Manapa, land development initiatives, and a slope protection structure at the new government center.

Further investments include the construction of a building dedicated to the integrated waste technology solution (IWTS) in Barangay Rizal, along with the procurement of necessary IWTS equipment. These projects are poised to significantly improve the quality of life and economic prospects for the residents of Buenavista.

The agreement was co-signed by LandBank officials Jonathan Orozco, head of the LandBank Caraga North Lending Center, and Emelita Escalante, the LandBank-Butuan branch manager, marking a collaborative effort towards the town’s development.
