LTO Elevates Nearly 500 Employees in 2024 to Enhance Job Stability

·

In a significant move to enhance job security and tackle contractual employment issues, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) has announced the promotion of 486 personnel across the nation in 2024. This initiative is part of a broader governmental effort to address the end-of-contract (endo) employment challenges and to fill permanent positions within the agency.

LTO chief Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II highlighted that the National Capital Region (NCR) saw the most promotions with 106 employees, followed by LTO-Calabarzon with 63, and the central office in Quezon City with 48. Mendoza emphasized that these promotions were long overdue and well-deserved by the LTO staff.

Taking office in July 2023, Mendoza committed to resolving the issue of endo within the LTO. He stressed the importance of job security, especially for government employees, aligning with the vision of the Bagong Pilipinas (New Philippines) initiative.

The promotions were the result of a thorough assessment and evaluation of all contract of service employees at the LTO. Those deemed qualified were prioritized for permanent positions. Mendoza expressed his belief that continuing such positive policies would motivate the LTO personnel to excel and ultimately enhance the quality of services provided to clients.
