The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is urgently calling for volunteers to assist in the production of family food packs (FFPs) at two key locations: the Visayas Disaster Resource Center (VDRC) in Mandaue City, Cebu, and the National Resource Operations Center (NROC) in Pasay City. This initiative is part of the DSWD’s efforts to enhance disaster preparedness and support ongoing relief operations for families affected by the unrest of Mt. Kanlaon on Negros Island.
The VDRC, located at the Wicker and Vine compound on B. Suico Street in Upper Tingub, Mandaue City, serves as the primary production hub for the Visayas and Mindanao regions. It is tasked with maintaining a minimum of 100,000 FFP boxes daily. Volunteers interested in contributing to this effort can reach out to Anniebelle Diaz at 0961-7211127 for scheduling and further details.
Similarly, the NROC in Pasay City, situated along Chapel Road in Barangay 195, is also welcoming volunteers. The National Resource and Logistics Management Bureau (NRLMB) oversees this facility and has announced the need for volunteers through a recent Facebook post. Those wishing to volunteer at NROC can contact the DSWD-NROC volunteer team members Shara Lee at 09260612646, Kevin Sanchez at 09764803953, or Wea Buranday at 09260612646 to arrange their participation.
Volunteers are encouraged to dress in comfortable attire, wear closed shoes, and bring their own water bottles and food to sustain them during their volunteer work.
