In a significant drug bust in Caloocan City, authorities apprehended two high-value targets and confiscated over PHP4.4 million worth of marijuana and its premium variant, kush. The operation took place early Friday morning within the Mentors Village Subdivision in Barangay 175, where the suspects, aged 21 and 27, were caught selling the illegal substances to an undercover police officer around 1:35 a.m.
Northern Police District (NPD) acting Director Col. Josefino Iligan reported that the sting led to the seizure of approximately 36.5 kg of narcotics. The arrested individuals are now held at the Caloocan City Police Station Custodial Facility, where they await formal charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. The confiscated drugs have been sent to the NPD Forensic Unit for detailed analysis.
Col. Iligan emphasized the NPD’s firm stance against illegal drugs, stating, “Our campaign against illegal drugs remains unwavering. We will continue to be relentless in safeguarding our communities from this threat.”
