President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. convened with Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on Thursday to prepare for the first Cabinet meeting of 2025, set for January 7. The meeting’s agenda was a key focus, as shared by Cesar Chavez, the Acting Secretary of the Presidential Communications Office, via text to reporters. Chavez mentioned that President Marcos would be reviewing notes with Bersamin, particularly concerning the agenda for the upcoming Cabinet session. The discussion will also cover legacy projects, including significant infrastructure and projects funded by Official Development Assistance (ODA). Last year, Marcos led two full Cabinet meetings, two special sessions, and 49 sectoral meetings. Additionally, Chavez noted that the President has scheduled private meetings. Marcos started the new year at Bahay Pangulo, his official residence within the Malacañan grounds, surrounded by his family. In his New Year’s address, Marcos expressed hope that the lessons from the previous year would help shape a future of promise and purpose for the nation.
