Bacolod City to Launch Sectoral IDs for Streamlined Assistance and Service Access

·

Bacolod City is set to introduce sectoral identification cards to members of its accredited associations starting in January. This initiative aims to simplify the process of distributing aid and accessing city services. The city’s Management Information Technology and Computer Services department is currently compiling a database to support this effort. City Administrator Lucille Gelvolea explained that the new IDs will help in quickly identifying legitimate members of various sectoral groups, a challenge they faced without a proper database. The city has accredited about 170 associations, representing sectors such as senior citizens, women, vendors, farmers, individuals with disabilities, fisherfolk, and transport workers. The sectoral ID program was officially launched in December during a summit hosted by Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez, focusing on enhancing access to tailored government programs and benefits.
