The annual feast of Jesus Nazareno’s organizer has announced that the blessing of the Black Nazarene replicas and the estandarte will take place in Manila’s Quiapo district on January 2. Silgen Cabrito, from the Social Communications Department of Quiapo Church, stated that the event is set for Thursday afternoon at the footbridge near the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene along Quezon Boulevard. The blessing ceremony is scheduled to start at 1:30 pm. Additionally, a Novena Mass will be conducted at the minor basilica at 12:15 pm, officiated by Archbishop Charles Brown, the Papal Nuncio to the Philippines. This blessing is a key part of the celebrations leading up to the Black Nazarene’s feast on January 9. The replicas will also participate in their own processions in the days leading up to the main event, known as the Traslacion, which involves a procession from Quirino Grandstand in Luneta to Quiapo Church. The highlight of the feast day will be a Fiesta Mass at the grandstand at midnight.
