Four Police Officers, Including Three Active and One AWOL, Arrested for Alleged Robbery Scheme in Bulacan

In a shocking turn of events, four police officers were apprehended in Bulacan on Saturday night, suspected of plotting a robbery. The arrests took place around 10:20 p.m. on El Camino Road in Barangay Perez, Meycauayan City. The officers involved were Cpl. Jayson Medallada and Staff Sgt. Mark Raian Vicente from Caloocan City Police Station, another Cpl. Jayson Medallada from Quezon City Police District, and Pat. Reiniel Basilio, who was previously stationed at Malabon City Police Station but was on AWOL status at the time of the arrest. The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported that the operation followed a tip from a concerned citizen who alerted the Meycauayan City Police Station about suspicious individuals planning to rob a local establishment. Upon arrival, the responding officers discovered the suspects carrying a .45 caliber pistol, four .9mm pistols, and approximately 23 grams of suspected shabu. Additionally, the police seized PNP identification cards, nine mobile phones, three motorcycles, two motorcycle license plates from the Land Transportation Office, four motorcycle helmets, various clothing items including three caps, and six bonnets. The four officers have been handed over to the Meycauayan police and are set to face administrative charges under Republic Act Nos. 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
