·

MANILA – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported on Saturday that the shear line, the northeast monsoon known as ‘amihan’, and the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will continue to influence weather patterns across the Philippines. According to the 4 a.m. bulletin, the shear line is expected to cause cloudy conditions with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms in Mainland Cagayan, Apayao, Isabela, Aurora, and Quezon. The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies and rain to Batanes and the Babuyan Islands. The ‘amihan’ will also result in partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light, isolated rains in the Ilocos Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, and the Cordillera Administrative Region. The ITCZ will lead to cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms in the Visayas, Caraga, Davao Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Bicol Region, and Mimaropa. Additionally, the ITCZ will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms to the rest of Mindanao. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. Northern Luzon is expected to experience strong to gale winds and rough to very rough seas, while the eastern section of the country will face moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas. The rest of the country will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas.
