President Marcos Jr. Encourages Filipinos to Support 50th MMFF’s 10 Films

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has called upon the Filipino public to rally behind the 10 films showcased in the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). In a video message displayed in cinemas, Marcos highlighted the significance of the festival’s golden anniversary, stating that the films would bring joy and impart valuable lessons. He encouraged Filipinos to embrace the stories told in these films, emphasizing the importance of supporting Filipino cinema.

Marcos urged families and friends to come together and enjoy the cinematic offerings of the MMFF, which runs from December 25, 2024, to January 7, 2025. The festival features a diverse lineup including ‘And the Breadwinner Is…,’ ‘Espantaho,’ ‘Green Bones,’ ‘Hold Me Close,’ ‘Isang Himala,’ ‘My Future You,’ ‘Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital,’ ‘The Kingdom,’ ‘Topakk,’ and ‘Uninvited.’

The President also noted that the holiday season is an ideal time for Filipino families to bond and celebrate their culture. He stressed that the MMFF, now in its 50th year, is a cherished part of Filipino life and culture, making it a perfect occasion to celebrate national stories and traditions.
