MANILA – The northeast monsoon, known locally as ‘amihan’, is expected to continue causing light to moderate rainfall across the eastern parts of Northern Luzon, according to the latest update from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA). Although the intensity of the monsoon has decreased, its effects are still being felt in the region. PAGASA forecaster Rhea Torres mentioned that the shear line, which previously brought heavy to intense rains to various parts of the country, will not affect any areas on Thursday. However, she warned that the shear line is expected to impact the country again starting Friday and in the following days. Additionally, isolated thunderstorms may occur in other parts of the country. Currently, no low pressure areas are being monitored within or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. Temperature forecasts for major cities include: Metro Manila with temperatures ranging from 23°C to 31°C, Baguio City from 17°C to 24°C, Laoag City from 24°C to 31°C, Tagaytay City from 22°C to 29°C, Legazpi City from 25°C to 31°C, Iloilo City from 25°C to 31°C, Cagayan de Oro from 25°C to 30°C, Puerto Princesa City from 25°C to 31°C, Metro Cebu from 26°C to 31°C, and Metro Davao from 24°C to 31°C.
