·

In a heartwarming gesture of solidarity, Patrolman Nikke Brotonel was handed the keys to his new home in Barangay Leviste, Laurel, Batangas, following the destruction of his previous residence by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine last month. The turnover ceremony, held on Monday, December 23, 2024, was led by Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil, who emphasized the organization’s dedication to supporting its members in times of need.

Marbil highlighted the event as a demonstration of the ‘Bayanihan’ spirit, a Filipino value of community cooperation, stating, ‘This newly built home reflects the unity within the PNP family. When faced with adversity, we come together, showing that no storm can weaken our commitment to each other.’ He further expressed hopes that the new home would be a place of love and hope for the Brotonel family, symbolizing the PNP’s ongoing commitment to service, compassion, and unity.

Brotonel expressed his gratitude towards the PNP leadership, specifically thanking Calabarzon Regional Director Brig. Gen. Lucas and all those involved in making the new home a reality. He described the new house as more than just a structure; it represents hope and a fresh start for his family.

The new residence is fully equipped with essential amenities, including complete electrical and water systems, a tiled bathroom, a fully functional kitchen, and necessary living spaces, making it immediately habitable.

While the PNP did not disclose further details about Brotonel’s background, the gesture underscores the organization’s commitment to the welfare of its officers.
