·

In a significant relief effort, the Department of Social Welfare and Development in the Caraga Region (DSWD-13) has sent a total of 7,592 family food packs to support those displaced by the eruption of Mt. Kanlaon. The relief goods, which were gathered from various warehouses across the Caraga Region, are currently being transported to Bacolod City from Butuan City. An initial shipment of 4,000 food packs was dispatched on Monday, followed by an additional 3,592 packs scheduled to arrive on December 25. This initiative aims to meet the urgent needs of families who have been forced to evacuate due to the volcanic activity on December 9. DSWD-13 has committed to restocking the used food packs to ensure continued support for those in need. The effort underscores a coordinated response to provide essential sustenance to the affected communities in the Negros Islands.
