·

Iloilo International Airport has resumed its regular operations on Monday after a brief closure of Runway 02 on Sunday, which impacted nine domestic flights. The runway was shut down from 7:15 a.m. to 11 a.m. to address two potholes, leading to three cancellations, five delays, and one flight diversion. The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) confirmed that the airlines involved took steps to assist affected passengers. Iloilo Airport Manager Manuela Luisa Palma emphasized the necessity of the closure, stating, “While we understand the inconvenience this may cause to travelers and the local economy, the safety of everyone involved is our utmost concern.” CAAP Director General Manuel Tamayo also stressed the importance of the closure to prevent potential risks and maintain high safety standards. Normal operations have now resumed, ensuring seamless travel for passengers.
