In a significant breakthrough, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) apprehended four individuals suspected of participating in the brutal rape of a 15-year-old girl in Oslob, Cebu, which occurred on December 9, 2024. The suspects, identified only as Luis, Cyrill, Tristan, and Kent, were taken into custody on December 22 in Brgy. Casay, Dalaguete, Cebu. The victim, known as Analyn, succumbed to her ordeal days after the assault. The incident was reported to the authorities by Analyn and her mother on December 12. According to reports, Analyn was at the Cuartel Heritage Park during the Oslob Grand Fiesta Celebration when she was approached by a group of men who offered her a drink, leading to her intoxication. It is alleged that these men then took her to a secluded spot where she was sexually assaulted by thirteen men. The CIDG’s investigation, which included reviewing CCTV footage and interviewing witnesses, traced the suspects back to Dalaguete, where they were attending the fiesta. The suspects are currently held by CIDG Regional Field Unit 7, with charges of statutory rape and homicide being prepared against them.
