Davao Police Seize PHP3.2 Million Shabu at Checkpoint

In a significant drug bust, the Davao City Police Office apprehended two suspects and seized PHP3.2 million worth of shabu at a checkpoint in Purok 2, Barangay Lacson, Calinan, Davao City on December 22, 2024. The suspects, known by the aliases ‘Ron-Ron’ and ‘Je-Je’, were caught around 12:20 p.m. while driving a white Nissan Navara, license plate JAS 8041. A routine inspection led to the discovery of five transparent plastic bags filled with suspected shabu, hidden in a large white cellophane on the passenger seat floor, alongside PHP10,000 in cash. Following their arrest, the suspects were taken into custody at the Calinan Police Station for further processing and to face charges. Brig. Gen. Leon Victor Rosete, Director of PRO 11, praised the efforts of the 2nd City Mobile Force Company, Calinan Police Station, and Task Force Davao for their role in this successful operation. Rosete also highlighted the continuous commitment of the Philippine National Police, in collaboration with the Armed Forces of the Philippines and other law enforcement agencies, to protect communities and escalate the battle against illegal drugs in the region.
