Mandaue City Police and PDEA Seize PHP30.6 Million in Shabu, Arrest Suspect

In a significant blow to drug trafficking, a collaborative effort between the Mandaue City Police Station and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) led to the arrest of a 28-year-old man and the seizure of PHP30.6 million worth of suspected shabu. The operation took place on December 20, 2024, in Mandaue City, Cebu, where authorities apprehended the suspect, identified as ‘Kent’ from Barangay Pasil, Cebu City, during a buy-bust operation on Logarta Street, Subangdaku at around 7:38 p.m. The haul included nine packs of the illicit substance, totaling approximately 4.5 kilograms. Following the arrest, the drugs were handed over to the PNP Regional Forensic Unit for detailed analysis and safekeeping. The suspect is currently held at the Mandaue City Police Station, facing charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, Republic Act 9165.
