In a significant operation in Antipolo City, Rizal, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) successfully apprehended a 54-year-old man known as ‘Bong’ and confiscated a substantial cache of high-powered firearms. The operation, executed on the night of December 19, 2024, was based on a search warrant issued by a Lucena City court just two days prior, targeting the suspect for illegal firearm possession.

The CIDG’s haul included a variety of weapons such as a Colt 5.56mm rifle, a Thompson .45 caliber pistol, another Colt .45 pistol, a Metrillo .40 caliber pistol, a 9mm Glock pistol, a Rock Island .22 rifle equipped with a scope, and a converted .22 rifle. Additionally, the team seized numerous magazines and a large amount of live ammunition.

Further investigation led to the discovery of two Dillon Precision reloading machines, a compressor, two polishing tumblers, and various reloading materials including smokeless gunpowder, cartridge cases, and bullet heads for .40, .45, and 9mm calibers, all found in the attic of the suspect’s residence.

The operation, which took place in Barangay Mayamot, was overseen by a local village official. Following the arrest, CIDG chief Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III confirmed that both the suspect and the seized items were taken to the CIDG Rizal Provincial Field Unit for further processing and legal action.
