·

MANILA – The weather bureau announced on Wednesday that Tropical Depression Querubin has downgraded to a low pressure area (LPA). At 4 p.m., the LPA was situated 275 km east of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte. Daniel James Villamil, a forecaster from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), indicated that the LPA would likely cause rainfall, especially in the eastern parts of Visayas and Mindanao. The trough associated with the LPA is expected to result in scattered showers across other parts of these islands. Additionally, the shearline is predicted to bring scattered rains and thunderstorms to the Bicol Region, Quezon, Marinduque, Romblon, and Oriental Mindoro. The northeast monsoon is set to deliver light rains in Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora, with isolated light showers in other parts of Luzon. PAGASA also warned of strong to gale-force winds and rough to very rough seas in extreme Northern Luzon, while moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters are expected in the eastern and western sections of Northern Luzon. The rest of the Philippines will experience light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas, according to PAGASA.
