In Cagayan de Oro City, the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has successfully allocated more than 320,993 hectares of land to Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) in Northern Mindanao this year, closely approaching its set target. During a Wednesday media briefing, Zoraida Macadindang, the Director of DAR Region 10, explained that the lands distributed are part of the agency’s Land Tenure Security Program (LTSP) and Land Acquisition and Distribution (LAD) efforts. She emphasized that the beneficiaries, including younger farmers, must actively farm the land to be eligible for land titles. The distribution has reached 97.28 percent of the region’s goal of 329,975 hectares. By November 2024, the region has documented a total of 239,446 ARBs, with 199,846 of them benefiting from at least three different program interventions.
