The Manila Clock Tower has become a focal point of holiday cheer, offering a unique 3D film experience to both residents and tourists. The city’s iconic landmark now hosts a nightly show titled ‘Sama-Saya sa Liwanag,’ which began on December 15 and will continue throughout the festive season. The screenings, which feature captivating lights and narratives, are scheduled hourly from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., transforming the tower into a canvas for visual storytelling.
The initiative is overseen by Jose Ma. ‘Koi’ Belmonte from the Department of Tourism, Culture and the Arts of Manila (DTCAM), under the leadership of Charlie Dungo. Mayor Honey Lacuna has encouraged viewers to enjoy the show from the grounds of the Kartilya ng Katipunan, located just behind the Bonifacio Shrine next to City Hall.
In addition to the 3D spectacle, Mayor Lacuna expressed gratitude to those who supported the city’s ’12 Days of Christmas’ gift-giving initiative. From December 1 to 12, the program successfully distributed Christmas food boxes to 740,000 families, ensuring they could celebrate with Noche Buena items on their tables.
