Jean Fajardo stated in a radio interview that no untoward incidents were reported on the first day of the nine-day event. She expressed hope that the series of dawn Masses would conclude without any serious incidents. Fajardo noted a significant turnout at churches but emphasized that the atmosphere remained peaceful.
To ensure safety during the holiday season, the PNP has increased police visibility in crowded areas, including places of worship, major roads, and transport hubs. Police were deployed early to cover evening Masses and areas likely to be visited afterward. Fajardo also confirmed that no serious or credible threats have been detected that could disrupt the holiday festivities, though the PNP remains on high alert to respond to any potential threats.
