The festive season is in full swing at Malacañang Palace, where the public is warmly invited to partake in a variety of holiday activities. From December 16 to 23, the Palace grounds will transform into a festive hub, welcoming visitors from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. each evening. The event, named ‘Tara sa Palasyo,’ encourages families, friends, and all visitors to experience the magic of the presidential estate, which is usually closed to the public.
The highlight of the event includes the traditional Simbang Gabi, or Misa de Gallo, held daily from 4 a.m. to 5 a.m. from December 16 to 24. For those who prefer a later visit, the Palace offers a delightful array of Filipino Christmas treats, including kakanin and hot chocolate, available from 5 a.m. to 6 a.m.
‘Tara sa Palasyo’ has become a cherished annual tradition since President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. took office in 2022. This initiative not only opens the historic grounds to the public but also celebrates Filipino culture and traditions. Earlier in the month, President Marcos Jr. initiated the holiday festivities by lighting the Malacañang Christmas tree and hosting a gift-giving event for children at the Kalayaan Grounds.
The Palace’s invitation to the public, ‘Isama ang buong pamilya, nobyo’t nobya at ang iyong buong barkada! Tara’t bumisita! Bukas na Palasyo para sa ating lahat!’ reflects a warm and inclusive spirit, inviting everyone to join in the holiday cheer.
