Antiqueño Children Experience Family Warmth Through ‘Share-a-Home’ Initiative

·

In San Jose de Buenavista, Antique, the ‘share-a-home’ program is bringing the joy of family life to 15 children at the Pagsapupo Center this Christmas. Managed by the Antique provincial government, the center is actively seeking families to host these children from December 19 to January 2, offering them a chance to experience the holiday season in a loving home environment.

Rebecca Lotilla, a social worker with the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, mentioned in a recent interview that they have already received interest from parents, teachers, and relatives of the children. However, the center continues to seek more families to participate in this heartwarming initiative.

The ‘share-a-home’ program, a long-standing tradition, has been a source of cherished memories for the children, who often return with tales of learning new skills, shopping for their needs, and receiving gifts, all enveloped in the warmth of family love.

The Antique Convention Baptist Women Missionary Union (ACBWMU) added to the festive spirit by organizing a gift-giving event complete with snacks for the children on a recent Sunday. Despite their challenges, the children at the center remain optimistic about their futures, with some expressing aspirations to become professionals and continue their education at a local school.

This holiday season, the ‘share-a-home’ program not only provides these children with a glimpse into family life but also reflects the essence of Christmas—love, generosity, and hope.
