Rainfall Persists Across Various Philippine Regions on Tuesday

·

MANILA – The Philippine weather agency has forecasted continued rainfall across multiple regions on Tuesday, influenced by the shearline and the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ).

The shearline impacting the eastern parts of Central and Southern Luzon is expected to cause scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Bicol Region, Marinduque, Oriental Mindoro, Bulacan, and Aurora.

Meanwhile, the ITCZ affecting the western parts of Mindanao and Palawan will lead to scattered rains and thunderstorms in Zamboanga del Norte and Palawan.

Heavy to intense rainfall is anticipated in Quezon and Camarines Norte, with moderate to heavy rains expected in Aurora, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, and Sorsogon.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has warned of potential flash floods and landslides in these areas.

Rainfall is also expected to dominate in Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, and Ifugao, with light showers scattered across the Ilocos Region and the rest of the Cordillera Administrative Region and Central Luzon due to the northeast monsoon.

Strong to gale-force winds are forecasted for Northern Luzon and the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon.

Moderate to strong winds and choppy coastal waters are expected in the rest of Luzon and the eastern sections of the Visayas and Mindanao.

In other areas, PAGASA predicts light to moderate winds with slight to moderate sea conditions. (PNA)
