Kidapawan City Mayor Announces P100,000 Bounty Following Failed Mall Robbery

·

In a bold move to apprehend the culprits behind a botched robbery at the Gaisano Grand Mall, Kidapawan City Mayor Paolo Evangelista has announced a substantial P100,000 reward. The incident, which occurred on the night of December 9, 2024, saw four suspects attempting to infiltrate the mall via its drainage system but ultimately leaving without any loot.

The mayor revealed that the suspects had managed to enter the mall and access multiple shops by breaking through the floor of a tenant’s store. Despite their efforts, they were unable to steal any valuables. The attempted theft was discovered early the next morning by vigilant mall staff and security personnel, who found tools used in the break-in near a drainage canal leading to a teashop.

City Police Director Lt. Col. Dominador L. Palgan Jr. noted that the suspects seemed well-acquainted with the mall’s drainage layout, skillfully avoiding security sensors and making their escape unnoticed. Mayor Evangelista emphasized that the reward is intended to hasten the arrest and legal proceedings against the perpetrators, calling on the community to assist with any information that could lead to their capture.

An investigation into the failed heist is currently underway, with authorities determined to bring the suspects to justice.
