In a concerted effort spanning December 2-8, the Davao Region’s Police Regional Office (PRO-11) executed a series of operations that culminated in the apprehension of 64 suspects and the confiscation of illegal drugs valued at PHP2 million. The crackdown was highlighted by Brig. Gen. Leon Victor Rosete, the director of PRO-11, who detailed the seizure of shabu and dried marijuana leaves among the contraband. A significant achievement of the operation was the arrest of 10 high-value targets, including the most wanted drug suspect in Davao City, during a buy-bust operation on December 6. Alongside these key arrests, 54 street-level individuals were also detained. Rosete praised the dedication of his officers and the community’s cooperation, emphasizing their combined efforts in enhancing community safety. In a subsequent operation on December 9, authorities nabbed ‘Mardy,’ a high-value target from Barangay Central, Mati City, Davao Oriental, with PHP1 million worth of shabu in his possession. The operation also yielded firearms, ammunition, and other non-drug items. Mardy is currently detained by the 2nd Davao Oriental Provincial Mobile Force Company. Legal proceedings under Republic Acts 9165 and 10591 are being prepared against all those arrested.
