MANILA – Starting April 2, 2025, Air Canada will introduce direct flights connecting Manila and Vancouver, operating four times a week. These flights will utilize the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
Mark Galardo, Air Canada’s executive vice president for revenue and network planning, emphasized the significance of the Philippines as a market, highlighting the deep familial bonds and increasing business and tourism links between the two nations.
Galardo noted that the airline’s robust network in Vancouver, which connects smoothly with its international routes, will enhance travel convenience for both leisure and business travelers between North America and the Philippines.
This new service marks Air Canada’s third new route to Southeast Asia in the last two years and its first direct connection to the Philippines, making Manila the airline’s 12th destination in the Asia Pacific region.
Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim expressed enthusiasm about the new route, stating that it represents a significant achievement as the first year-round direct service by a Canadian airline between Vancouver and Manila. He highlighted the benefits for the city’s Filipino community, noting that it would facilitate easier family reunions and enhance cultural connections.
Currently, the only other direct service between Manila and Vancouver is operated by Philippine Airlines from Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
