MANILA – In a significant move to combat air pollution, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has teamed up with SM Prime Holdings Inc. to set up a real-time Air Quality Monitoring Station (AQMS) in Quezon City.

This partnership is part of the government’s broader strategy to improve air quality monitoring and address pollution issues, as stated in a recent press release.

SM Prime Holdings Inc., a leading property developer in Asia, has joined the Environmental Management Bureau’s Adopt-a-CAMS Program, which supports the Philippine Clean Air Act of 1999.

The DENR emphasized that the data collected from the AQMS will be crucial for developing policies that are grounded in evidence, ultimately benefiting the environment and the communities in the area.

The DENR praised SM Prime Holdings for their involvement, highlighting that this collaboration enhances the DENR’s capacity to monitor air quality in the National Capital Region and encourages other corporations to participate in environmental conservation efforts. (PNA)
