Ilocos Norte Extends P2 Million Aid to Each of Three Typhoon-Ravaged Regions

·

In a gesture of solidarity, Ilocos Norte’s provincial government has pledged PHP2 million to each of three typhoon-stricken areas: Cagayan, Tuguegarao City, and Camarines Sur. Governor Matthew Joseph Manotoc announced this initiative during a press conference at the Capitol on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. He emphasized that these regions were severely impacted by recent typhoons, as reported by the Office of Civil Defense. Although Ilocos Norte itself faced typhoon challenges, the impact was less severe compared to the three recipient provinces. In addition to the monetary support, the province organized a donation campaign during the recent Himala sa Buhangin festival, where residents contributed hygiene kits, non-perishable food, and bottled water to aid the typhoon victims.
