CDA Grants Amnesty to Inactive Cooperatives in Northern Mindanao

·

In a move to assist non-compliant cooperatives, the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) in Northern Mindanao is offering an amnesty program. This initiative, announced by CDA-10 Director Aminoden Elias during the ‘Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas’ forum, aims to help cooperatives meet legal obligations without facing fines. The amnesty, which was introduced last week, provides a window for cooperatives to update their compliance status. Elias emphasized that cooperatives taking advantage of this amnesty and fulfilling all requirements will avoid penalties. Currently, CDA-10 oversees approximately 1,300 active cooperatives, with a small number categorized as delinquent. To remain active, cooperatives must submit reports biennially and adhere to other mandates specified in CDA circular orders.
