Davao de Oro’s commitment to safeguarding public assets was recognized when the province received the Silver Seal of Protection from the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS). The award ceremony, titled ‘Pagpupugay sa mga Kaagapay ng GSIS,’ took place at the GSIS Gymnasium in Pasay City on November 28, 2024. Governor Dorothy Gonzaga accepted the accolade, which celebrates the province’s adherence to Republic Act 656, ensuring comprehensive insurance coverage for public properties.
Dennis Anduyan, acting head of the Provincial General Services Office (PGSO), emphasized that this recognition underscores Davao de Oro’s dedication to protecting public resources and maintaining high governance standards. Governor Gonzaga stated that the award reflects the collective efforts of the PGSO in managing assets while following national safety and sustainability policies.
The GSIS Seal of Protection is awarded to government bodies that demonstrate a commitment to comprehensive property insurance, highlighting the significance of proactive risk management in public administration. Governor Gonzaga noted that this recognition enhances Davao de Oro’s standing as a leader in governance and public service.
