In a heartwarming initiative, the Police Regional Office-Bicol (PRO-5) provided free medical, dental, and optical services to 120 students at the PRO-5 Children Learning Center in Legazpi City, Albay. The event, held on November 22, 2024, was part of the celebrations for National Children’s Month. Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon, the PRO-5 Regional Director, emphasized the importance of safeguarding the health of the nation’s future leaders. ‘Our goal is to protect these children from preventable diseases and ensure their well-being as they grow up within our camp,’ Dizon stated during the event’s opening. Arnie Mae Balana, a teacher at the center, expressed gratitude towards the parents and guardians who allowed their children to benefit from the services. She also highlighted the center’s plans for additional activities, including storytelling, art, and educational visits to a wildlife park to teach about animal habitats and behaviors. Christine Villanueva, a parent, shared her relief and appreciation for the timely health services, particularly the vaccinations, which she said provided her with peace of mind regarding her son’s health.
